Trend Micro experts have analyzed the Boston Marathon scams

Ever since the Boston Marathon explosions, cybercriminals have been using every trick in the book to dupe internauts into visiting their malicious sites. 

New Boston Marathon bombing-related domains and social media accounts have been set up and malware-spreading emails have been sent out.

Now, Trend Micro experts report that some scammers are also leveraging the exchange of fire that took place between the Boston Marathon bombing suspects and an officer at MIT.

In this case, the scammers have set up bogus Twitter accounts from which they spread links by utilizing keywords related to the MIT shooting.

So far, the links analyzed by the security firm lead to adware and spammy sites, but experts advise users to be cautious since URLs that point to malware websites could emerge at any time.
