Ransomware is highly problematic for Internet users these days, and despite the fact that authorities have dismantled some cybercrime groups, the threat is not going to disappear too soon.

That’s why it’s important for users to identify ransomware scams and to know what to do in case they fall victim.

We’ve covered ransomware on numerous occasions, but Scambook’s latest advisory is perfect for less tech savvy users who fear that their computers might be infected with such pieces of malware.

Scambook’s Kevan explains in simple terms what ransomware is and how to remove it from your device.

When dealing with such threats, there is a very important thing you must remember: never pay up. There’s no guarantee that your computer is released once you do so and it puts a target on your head for future malicious campaigns.
