While analyzing suspicious websites, security researchers from Blue Coat came across a site called videolocked.pw. The domain name suggests something shady, but when it’s visited, the site displays just a message which reads “You don’t belong here.”

However, that doesn’t mean the website is innocent. A closer look revealed that several video-related Blogspot sites contained links to videolocked.pw.

Experts have determined that the domain is part of a scam network operated by cybercrooks who want to trick users into handing over personal information, completing surveys, and possibly even installing adware.

Every time the surveys are completed, the scammers that run the operation make a certain amount of money. The email addresses and other personal information they harvest can be sold on underground markets or used for spam campaigns.
