Beware of black Facebook scams Enlarge picture - Beware of black Facebook scams
Scammers are trying to lure unsuspecting Facebook members to a shady survey by promising them the “new Facebook black.”

Hoax Slayer informs that some fraudsters want to make a profit by advertising an application that will change the color of Facebook to black.

It all starts with a simple post which reads: “Change Your CoIor Right Now. [Link]”

Those who click on the link are taken to a website which promotes an app that can allegedly change the color of Facebook to anything.

Once the application is installed, victims are requested to complete a survey before they can make it work.

These types of surveys might look innocent, but they can help scammers not only earn money, but also harvest sensitive information.

In the end, no colors are changed. Instead, the shady post advertising the black Facebook app is posted on the victim’s Timeline.

This is not the first time when crooks offer to change the color of the social media website. Last time, they promised a pink Facebook.

Here is a step-by-step advisory on how to remove Facebook Black.

I clicked on it and then I stopped myself from going further, I realized it was shady.By then I think it was too late. My computer completely froze. I am freaked out that they stole some info. I don't know how that stuff works, but I did change my password. My e-mail password too.

I used google chrome with stylish and a similiar theme installed to look like that instead of falling for that scam. No one else can see it though.

Facebook Black just keeps posting on my page every few minutes. I can't get it to stop.
I think it assigned a new account number to my page? I can't delete it because I don't know the password.

Hey, I think I've found it! If you are using Chrome, go to Setings, and then extensions. Or just click here:

Then delete the Black thing. :D
