Scammers are highly active on Facebook these days. After trying to lure users to shady websites with bogus posts that claim Miley Cyrus has committed suicide, now they’re trying to do the same with messages according to which Angelina Jolie has died.

“The Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie was pronounced dead on August 23, 2013 after her second major operation. Angelina wishes to be interviewed on cam to give her inspirational message to all her FANS. Watch the Original footage from Hollywood Access,” the scam posts read.

Angelina Jolie is not dead, but the scammers hope you take the bait and click on the link contained in the post.

According to Hoax Slayer, the link points to a scam website that promises users a Samsung Galaxy S3 and a video of an “inspirational message” from Angelina Jolie.

Victims are told to complete a survey in order to win the smartphone and gain access to the video. Of course, there’s no video and no one will ever win the Galaxy S3.

Instead, the scammers make some money each time someone completes the survey. In addition, some of these scams are designed to trick unsuspecting users into singing up for all sorts of paid mobile services.
