While we have our doubts about the future survival of GPS navigation devices, the truth of the matter is that there are plenty of such products being rolled out onto the market, the latest we've come across being the Moov M300 entry-level PND from Mio, delivering a rather comprehensive set of navigation options at a more than affordable price point. While the device has been officially announced back in August, the M300 it's just now starting to make its way to the various European markets, this being the reason why we're only now say a few things about it. So, the M300 is extremely easy to carry around, since it measures 79 x 93 x 19 mm and weighs around 135 grams, while being powered by a Li-Ion battery that delivers up to 3 hours of non-stop functioning life. Plus, despite being limited to a 320 x 240 pixels resolution, the 3.5-inch display should be able to provide accurate imaging in just about all situations, whether we're talking about night-time driving or powerful sunlight. Moreover, the M300 is powered by a Samsung 2450/400 MHz processor, accompanied by a SiRFstarIII with InstantFixII GPS receiver, which will provide the data required by the MioMap navigation software (with maps provided by TeleAtlas). Other important features worth mentioning include the lane guidance system, voice-guided navigation instructions, multiple route options, a choice of 2D or 3D maps, etc. The best thing about the M300 GPS navigator from Mio is the fact that it comes at a more than affordable price point for a device of this type, since a version that comes pre-installed just with the local navigation maps will retail for somewhere in the vicinity of 75 Euro. Of course, users who require more maps will be able to add them via the desktop software included in the sales package (the updates are not free, though), but that will lead to a slight increase in the overall cost of ownership.
