LiLo is probably not a very happy camper at the moment, as she'll soon be making headlines for the one video shoot she certainly never wanted to attend: her own deposition in court. LiLo's bid to stop her upcoming court appearance being videotaped has failed - miserably, I'd say. The reformed/rehabbed actress had requested that the deposition for her upcoming civil lawsuit - which involves a car crash that took place two years ago - should not be taped, because if it was leaked it could damage her career.
Court papers written by her attorney David J. Ozeran say that "if a single picture of Ms. Lohan can sell for thousands of dollars, a videotape of the deposition will undoubtedly sell for tens of thousands of dollars, or more. I believe the real purpose of videotaping is to annoy Ms. Lohan and to attempt to gain a litigation advantage by causing her concern about the embarrassment of such a videotape". First of all, I think this guy is overestimating LiLo's appeal just a little bit. She's not as popular as she used to be, now she's all clean and sober, and believe me, I'm a little shocked myself to see how things are - but it's true. And secondly, does Lindsay intend to confess that she is a mad serial killer or rapist? Because I really can't see what else except that could damage her (already) long-dead career.
However, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael L. Stern ruled yesterday that the deposition - against a lawsuit brought by Los Angeles waiter Raymundo Ortega, who alleges Lindsay had been drinking when she crashed her black Mercedes-Benz convertible into his van in 2005 - will be taped but Lindsay is denying the allegations, counter suing for $75,000. I say, however - let's get her while she's under oath and ask about all the guys she's been sleeping with while in rehab. And THEN we'll really have something to talk about.
Meanwhile, LiLo has some more negative press to deal with, as she was reportedly spotted drinking in New York over the Thanksgiving weekend. A so-called friend of the actress told the New York Daily News newspaper that "she has been drinking a little bit. Over her week in New York, she did have a few drinks". However, the friend insisted that it was all under control. "For Lindsay, her real problem was drugs, not alcohol. In the past, it wasn't the drinking that was the problem - it was the heavy drug use. The drug use was way more intense than her party drinking. As long as she isn't doing drugs, she's OK". Yes, well, since we were all born yesterday, we'll believe that story, while keeping our fingers crossed and hoping that more dark secrets will emerge about LiLo once she testifies on tape.
