The horror franchise will son have a third limb, the already much talked about Saw3. Let's just hope it will not be just as limp as the previous ones. So... Toronto, Canada. The place where the shooting starts. Special and much appreciated filming spot for most movies that don't want to bash money on locations. Today the first takes are to be done for the third Saw.
The movie does not only share its title with the other Saw movies, it also has the same release date: Halloween. So the crew and the cast must hurry up with the tortures and the screams because Halloween was a great launch day for the first two installments of the franchise so it will most probably be good for the third one much awaited by the surprisingly large Saw fanbase.
The sickly villain Jigsaw part is to be reprised by Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith and Dina Meyer are back as Amanda and Kerry, respectively. New members have been added to the cast (the movie needs casualties and dead bodies as anyone who saw any of the first two knows well): Bahar Soomekh (previously seen in Crash) and Angus MacFadyen (who played in Mel Gibson's Braveheart).
The Lionsgate release is directed by the same Darren Lynn Bousman and the screenplay was put together by Leigh Whannell. Franchise creator James Wan will produce once again.
Lionsgate's president of acquisitions and co-productions, Peter Block, tried to sell the movie without revealing anything about the plot: "Darren, Leigh and James are cooking up a twisted gem that promises to be the most nightmarish Saw yet."
