There are situations when you need to rapidly publish a website and you do not want to use HTML templates. Content management systems (CMS) are not an unknown Internet reality for the majority of end-users and web developers.

But many of the existing content management systems have complicated
administration functions and many often unused features. These CMS will also occupy more hard disk space on web server and are harder to optimize for speed and search engines, especially when they have a database backend.

Fortunately, free lightweight content management systems exist as alternatives for the situations when you do not need all extensive features of a complex CMS. LokiCMS is an open source content management system that has after installation under 100 kB in size. Another feature of this content manager is the fact that it does not require a database: all content is stored in flat files. It is also XHTML compliant, in other words, compatible with any operating system that has implemented this W3C standard.

The content management installation will take less than twenty seconds if you have a web hosting account on a PHP-enabled web server. You must just call in the web browser the install.php file. The administration panel is very simple to understand and use. You can change the site title, copyright footnote, add, edit or remove pages and configure site modules.

Because the content management system has a modular structure it is easy to customize or to develop new modules. The site themes can be modified by editing the existing CSS files or creating new ones based on the default CSS files structure.

This content management system has the following key advantages: increased publishing speed of a new web site, such as a product or service presentation, easy website transfer from one server to another, small files size and more. When you run out of hard disk space on web server and you must rapidly publish a website, Loki CMS could be a good alternative to accomplish your job.
