Microsoft rolled out a brand new campaign aimed at students across the United States, offering a total of six products at special prices for a limited period of time.

Eligible students can purchase Office University 2010 for only $99.99 / €76.50, while a Windows 7 Professional Upgrade is available at a special price of $64.95 / €49.50. Office for Mac University 2011 costs $99.99 / €76.50.

If you're into gaming and you have an Xbox 360, you can purchase an Xbox Live 12-month Gold Card plus 800 points for just $67.50 / €51.50, while an Xbox Live 12-month Messenger 400 Points Gold Starter Pack is now sold for $53.99 / €41.00.

A Kinect sensor for Windows comes with a major discount, as the student price is $149.99 / €114.50, down from the regular price of $249.99 / €191.00.

There are however some requirements in order to be eligible for this new campaign and Microsoft explains them all in the “Frequently asked questions” section of the store.

For example, “you must be a student at an eligible accredited educational institution geographically located in the United States and must be actively enrolled in at least 0.5 course credit hours at that educational institution and must be able to provide proof of enrollment to Microsoft or its appointed vendor upon request.”

If you're not a student or you want to wait until the latest Microsoft products become available, it's probably worth mentioning that Windows 8 will cost less than $100 for system builders, while an Office 2013 copy will start at $8.33 for a one-year subscription. Full Windows 8 pricing however will be released in the next few weeks, as the product will be officially launched on October 25.
