Following the refresh of the MacBook Pro and iMac lines, Apple’s Special Deals section is seeing new Core 2 Duo systems added with attractive price tags, some of which save customers almost $500.

In addition to yesterday’s offerings, which apparently still stand, a new Refurbished MacBook Pro 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo has been added with a price tag of $929, or $270 less than the original retail price.

Originally released in April last year, the system boasts a 13.3-inch LED-backlit glossy widescreen display, packs 4GB (2 x 2GB) of 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM, 250GB Serial ATA @ 5400 rpm, 8x double-layer SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW), NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory, and a built-in iSight cam.

A second offer for a Refurbished MacBook Pro 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo is stamped with a $1,019 price tag.

Although still rather steep, considering there are new options now, Apple says this deal shaves off a whopping $480 on this computer.

The specs for this 2010 MacBook Pro are identical aside from the higher-clocked CPU.
