Nicolas Cage is out to save the world again, and in the process, he’s getting help from the unlikeliest place ever: a new poster for his upcoming film, the end of days, Bible-based “Left Behind,” includes a pull-quote from none other than Satan himself.

You can see the poster in question in the photo attached to this blog, while the video below is with the official trailer. The poster debuted on Facebook the other day and it’s slowly but surely getting lots of attention in the blogosphere.

Well, considering it’s citing the Devil, no wonder. “Please do not bring unbelievers to this movie —Satan,” it reads. The idea is that he’s pleading with potential moviegoers not to bring friends or family members who don’t believe in God, because seeing the film will turn them into believers and he’ll be out of business, as it were.

The film is based on the biblical Rapture from the Book of Revelation, but also on the novel of the same name by Tim LaHaye and Tim Storey. It is directed by Vic Armstrong and includes performances from Lea Thompson, Chad Michael Murray, and Cassi Thomson.

It doesn’t just present a Christian message, it also boasts serious support from the Christian community, as the same Facebook page where this poster was released confirms. It also includes quotes from prominent evangelical Christians like Willie Robertson, star of A&E’s Duck Dynasty, Jerry B. Jenkins, and Storey and LaHaye.

Both authors seem happy with the way their book was turned into a film, and both promise a ride that will thrill but also open the viewers’ eyes. They also say that Cage’s performance is nothing short of stunning.

Those of us who’ve seen one too many bad movies from Cage will have to see “Left Behind” in theaters before making our mind up about it.
