Although SaskTel announced about a week ago it expects the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade for Samsung Galaxy S III to be available in mid-May, the regional carrier received the update earlier than expected.

The information comes directly from SaskTel's support site where the carrier notes that is working to obtain the hotly anticipated Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform for several phones. In addition, the operator mentions that this update is now available for the Samsung Galaxy S II.

Unfortunately, SaskTel customers who own other Android phones will be disappointed by the fact that the carrier confirmed it has not other details on the availability of the update for the rest of the devices in its portfolio.

SaskTel Galaxy S II owners can now upgrade their smartphone to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich via Samsung Kies desktop software. Make sure you have the latest version of Kies before attempting the update.
