The second week of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars brought some drama: as the cameras were preparing to zoom in on Sarah Palin, booing was heard. Many believe the booing was for Palin.

Bristol Palin, Sarah’s daughter, is now a contestant on the popular dancing competition, with the former governor saying she’d do her best to be there for support as much as she could.

The other night was one of those instances, with Mrs. Palin and her younger daughter sitting in the audience, as Monsters And Critics informs.

The cameras were on Brooke Burke when the booing began, with the host being definitely at a loss as to what was happening to get audiences to react this way.

“The controversial politician was in the audience for the second week of the US competition as Bristol took on the quick step,” Monsters And Critics writes.

“But just before she was interviewed, as dancer Derek Hough and actress Jennifer Grey received their marks from the judges, there was booing from the crowd,” the e-zine notes.

There’s booing in the ballroom. I don’t know why,” Brooke Burke said, while Grey too wondered, “Why is there booing?”

“The show then cut to host Tom Bergeron sat next to Palin – who had a stunned look on her face – and her youngest daughter, Piper,” says the same e-zine.

“US media seized on the story, reporting that the audience had spotted the interview being set up when the booing started,” the same publication writes by means of an explanation.

The moment this got out in print, ABC was contacted for comment but their spokesperson were very to-the-point in denying the booing was for Mrs. Palin.

Reps for the network tell the Washington Post the booing was only a belated reaction to the score Grey got from judges, which would make sense – if only Grey and her partner hadn’t gotten only 8s.

Pressed for comment, another rep for ABC states: audiences were booing because Jennifer didn’t get a bigger score; if they were doing it to upset Palin, they wouldn’t have stopped when she began to speak.

“I don’t know why everybody booed. [I guess] they were booing because [Jennifer] wasn’t getting 9s. That’s my guess, I can’t say for sure,” the second rep explains.

Even so, many remain unconvinced that the booing really wasn’t meant for Sarah Palin.
