Someone’s invite probably got lost in the mail, commenters say

While the biggest names in politics and the media were at the Washington Hilton over the weekend for the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, Sarah Palin was on Twitter putting Obama on blast for organizing such a “nerd prom.”

“That #WHCD was pathetic. The rest of America is out there working our [expletive]-es off while these DC [expletive]clowns throw themselves a #nerdprom,” she writes.

She echoes the feeling on Facebook, saying that there are way more serious problems in the US right now that should get the politicians and the media’s attention than a party.

“Yuk it up media and pols. While America is buried in taxes and a fight for our rights, the permanent political class in DC dresses up and has a prom to make fun of themselves. No need for that, we get the real joke,” Palin says.

However, the real problem, commenters point online, is that she probably didn’t get her invite, so she’s just crying foul because she has no other option.

Do you think that this is a case of sour grapes, or is Palin genuinely upset that Obama would rather he attended such dinner parties than do something else?
