14 DAY TRIAL // Former Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin is speaking out on the ongoing Duggar scandal, blaming the media for crucifying the entire family for the old mistakes of one member, while hypocritically turning a blind eye to the perversions of other stars. Like Lena Dunham.
Unlike the Duggars, Lena is not conservative. She’s also widely appreciated for her writing and her acting on “Girls,” and for her efforts in the name of feminism and a healthier body image in showbiz. As Palin puts it, she’s also a pedophile, boasting about molesting her younger sister in the book “Not That Kind of Girl.”
Lena Dunham vs. Josh Duggar, some context
In the biography, Lena recalls how she “hit on” younger sister Grace, tricking her into letting her touch her and even kiss her. At the time of the release of the book, much fuss was made about this chapter, with not a few voices calling her a pedophile and a predator.
Ironically, she even compared herself to one, in a passage in which she said she’d used every trick in that arsenal to satisfy her curiosity with her sister.
Many voices called for a boycott of the book, but just as many people defended the author, saying that this perverted meaning of her actions can only be reached if these depictions in the book are divorced from the context and stripped of their humorous tone.
Dunham apologized to those who found the passages offensive and assured them she meant no harm by them, but she did not pull them from the book as she was urged to do.
On the other hand, we have Josh Duggar, son of Jim Bob and Michelle, stars of TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting. When he was 14 and 15, Josh molested 5 minor girls, 4 of whom were his sisters and the youngest was 5.
His parents knew about it from the first incident, but they let Josh in the house for almost 2 more years before sending him away to a Christian-based camp. The incidents involved touching the girl’s privates over and under clothes, when they were asleep and awake.
Word of this only got out a few weeks ago, with the scandal threatening to end the Duggars’ reality TV career and good reputation.
Palin cries double-standards
According to Palin, both Dunham and Duggar are just as bad because both preyed on kids when they were teens. In both cases, what they did was very wrong and should not have been allowed to continue past the first reported incident.
However, the “liberal media” is taking sides in the presentation of these stories: Dunham got a pat on the back for her “honest” and “witty” story, while the Duggars are being threatened with being pushed out of the spotlight for something their son did.

This is hypocrisy at its worst, she argues, because the media is telling the public that they can and should choose who is a pervert and who is not, by covering up for a favorite and making a non-favorite seem worse than he could possibly ever be.
Moreover, all this is happening because there’s an “agenda” against the Duggars, a plot meant to discredit them involving the media, a large chunk of the public and even the police station that released the records on the Josh Duggar molestation case.
Yesterday, Jim Bob Duggar talked to Fox News’ Megyn Kelly and claimed the same, that the family was under “attack” by the liberals, who were using the media to throw mud at their reputation, over something that had already been fixed years ago.
