The actress Sarah Michelle Gellar will be playing Alice for "Universal", a movie adaptation after the game "American McGee's Alice", which is itself based on Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland" novels.
The game, released in 2000, sold more than 488,000 units of the game and generated more than $11.8 million in revenue, consulting firm NPD Group said. Alice is a grown up disturbed woman who find herself in a twisted world, with nonsensical tea parties and talking animals, exploding Jack-in-the-boxes and deadly croquet mallets.
"Alice" will be directed by Marcus Nispel, who made the recent remake of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre".
Sarah Michelle Gellar, 24, played in TV show "Buffy The Vampire Slayer", "Scooby Doo", "Cruel Intentions" and "The Grudge".
