New mom and happy wife Sarah Michelle Gellar is making her grand TV return, in a new series called “Ringer.” While promoting it in an interview with Health Magazine, the actress also opened up a bit about her insecurities and sometimes very poor body image.

Many women may not know this, but celebrities too have body image issues to deal with on a daily basis, the star says in the interview.

She believes she has body dysmorphic behavior and she hardly ever looks at her reflection in the mirror, Sarah explains, adding that, in this regard, she’s just like millions of women out there in the world.

“I’m a female! I totally have body dysmorphic disorder. I think most women do,” the actress says.

Even the people she works with have picked up on the fact that she resents looking at herself in the mirror, despite being surrounded by them almost all the time because of the nature of her job.

“A make-up artist friend once said ‘I don’t think I’ve ever seen you look in a mirror.’ I’m surrounded by them all the time – you sit in hair and make-up – so I guess I just have this mechanism where I tune it out,” she says.

“So every once in a while, I’ll look and I’ll be like, ‘Wait, that’s what I look like?’ I just have to remember that I’m human, and I’m a mom,” Sarah adds.

That last part is very important to her; in fact, she can honestly say she’s no longer as vain as she was before she became pregnant because, once you give birth, “your priorities are different.”

In the same interview, Sarah recalls how she went into labor at the gym, talks a bit about teaching her daughter healthy habits from a very young age, and addresses the media frenzy around the Middleton sisters.
