Sarah Jessica Parker says being named the Unsexiest Woman Alive doesn't upset her. Well, sure, that's what she claims now...but I really have a hard time buying that she's not at all fond of the way the public perceives her. On the other hand, Maxim.com is a men's site and it may just be that Sarah only cares about the ladies' opinions - either way, I think she made a good job defending herself and laughing the whole thing off - but I still think I smell just a tiny bit of hypocrisy there.
The 'Sex and the City' actress claims she isn't that much concerned about whether or not people find her attractive and admits she doesn't see herself as sexy either. "What they don't know is that one day I'll wake up fat. But I'll still be happy, just like I am now. I believe in the old 'sticks and stones' philosophy, so frankly their words don't come close to hurting". Well, OK then, maybe I can for a second imagine that she may not care THAT much about being a sex icon, but no one will ever convince me that this chick will ever go fat. That will definitely be the day hell freezes over.
"It does not bother me in the least if people don't think I'm sexy. I don't think I am, either", Parker added. I have to say, this whole "I don't care" thing has come a little too late - which makes me think that she took some time figuring out what would be the best possible attitude to adopt in this case. Last month, Parker was awarded the dubious honor of the Unsexiest Woman Alive in the online poll by men's website Maxim.com.
And in case you forgot, Maxim.com writers really outdid themselves - by all means, they launched into a vicious attack in which they compared Parker to two famous US racehorses Barbaro and Secretariat, and insisted they would rather get up close and personal with her 'Sex and the City' co-star Chris Noth. "How the hell did this Barbaro-faced broad manage to be the least sexy woman in a group of very unsexy women and still star on a show with "sex" in the title?", they wrote. "Pull your skirt down, Secretariat, we would rather ride your co-star Chris Noth!"
Well, whatever you say, I'm sure Sarah wasn't pleased with this - no woman as self-conscious as her would. But 10 points for the positive attitude - this time, she managed to strike a good note. Yes, miracles happen.
