They’ve been married for more years than most Hollywood couples could ever even dream of, but troubles also mar the Broderick-Parker paradise. If it’s not problems that rear their ugly head, then it’s the break-up rumors that plague them, the most recent coming from “Star” magazine, which says that the actress has moved out of the house and is considering legal separation.

The tabloid claims to have it from very reliable, but unnamed sources, that Sarah Jessica Parker, star of the HBO hit series “SATC,” has finally had it with her husband’s cheating and lies. Consequently, she is said to have already made the first steps in the direction by moving out of the house and by hiring a real estate broker to find her an apartment she could move in, presumably son James Wilkie included.

“Sarah’s not stupid. She knows exactly what’s going on. For a while it was easier for her to stay than go through a harsh divorce. They’re essentially living separate lives. They spent the holidays with him, pretending to be happy. SJP is a great actress when she has to be!” the unnamed spy tells the magazine about the actress’ determination to seek separation from her husband.

Although they live most of their life under the media radar, Sarah and Matthew’s marriage has often held the headlines on subjects such as this one. The two actors met through Sarah's brother and, much to the public surprise, married in a civil ceremony that barely made it in the pages of celebrity magazines.

Until now, the couple has lived in New York, a city the actress repeatedly confesses she could not live without, having fallen irremediably in love with it since she was young. Despite all rumors, so far, Matthew has always put up a united front with Sarah Jessica Parker, be it to defend her from the media (which even gave her the “distinction” of being the most unattractive female celebrity in Hollywood) or to show the world that all rumors on their marriage were utter lies. Whether this is also the case is still to be determined.

They didn't meet on the theater stage, they met through her brother Pippin Parker when Matthew directed him in a play, a good 4-5 years before they performed together in How to Succeed.

Hi, Kate. Speaking of the Naked Angels theater company, the NY Times wrote on May 14, 2006: “The actors Rob Morrow, Mary Stuart Masterson, Nancy Travis and Gina Gershon were also among its founding members. And it was at Naked Angels that a young actor named Matthew Broderick first got involved with his wife-to-be, Sarah Jessica Parker, whose brothers, Pippin and Toby, helped start the company.” When I said that the two met on the theater stage, I did not necessarily mean that they became involved while performing in the same play. However, a correction to avoid further confusion has been made. Thank you.

SJP is hardly unattractive. She's actually quite hot.
