Actress Sara Rue has struggled with her weight her entire life, but it wasn’t until November last year that she was finally ready to take matters in her own hands. It was then that she agreed to become a spokesperson for Jenny Craig and bagan to turn her life around. The results are already obvious and, what’s more, she’s yet some distance from her goal, People magazine informs.

Speaking with the mag, Rue says the Jenny Craig program is not a diet as most people believe. Because it lays emphasis on health first and foremost, it is more of a lifestyle change that also has effects in terms of weight loss. She for one, can vouch that it works: thanks to it, Rue has already dropped 30 pounds and is eager to lose even more. Furthermore, she feels many times better than she did when she was heavier.

“After losing 30 lbs. in 12 weeks, actress Sara Rue is going for 10 more, she says. ‘The changing of your mind is often the hardest part,’ says Rue, a spokesperson for Jenny Craig. ‘Now that I’ve conquered that, I’m ready for more!’ Rue, 31, has struggled with her weight since she was a child. The red-headed actress, who starred in the TV show Eastwick, says she once lost a role due to her size,” People magazine writes after speaking to Rue. That was a decisive moment in her life, she says.

“Determined to gain control of her weight, Rue joined the program in November and learned about how much to eat and healthy foods. She explains, ‘The key has been portion control, which has totally helped me not slip up, and has given me the necessary balance to feel good. I’m comfortable with this program, because it’s not a diet – it’s a lifestyle change.’ As a result, the pounds fell off – and she’s down to the last ten lbs of her Jenny Craig journey,” the publication further writes.

Sara Rue is not the only celebrity to become a spokesperson for the highly popular Jenny Craig program. At the beginning of the year, “Seinfeld” star Jason Alexander also accepted the company’s offer, saying that, in doing so, he was killing two birds with one stone: getting fit and healthy, and showing the world that Jenny Craig was not just for women.
