Some boxes may leave people bemused when they spot the company name though

A new video card has been launched by Sapphire, one that builds on the design that Advanced Micro Devices used for the Radeon HD 7950.

The card is known as the Radeon HD 7950 3GB with Boost and is just one of four Boost boards.

It has a Tahiti Pro GPU running at 850 MHz (925 MHz with boost) and 1792 Stream Processors, plus 112 texture nits, 32 raster operators and a memory clock of 5 GHz.

The description on the boxes might draw a few chuckles though, provided people look closely at the company name:

“SAHHPIRE HD 7950 3GB with Boost now has the latest GDDR5 memory clocked at 5000MHz effective, and runs with a core clock speed of 850 MHz which with PowerTune Dynamic Boost rises to 925 MHz on the engine.”

No price was given, but it is probably of around $330 / 330 Euro. Go here for a comparison of the four boards.
