Sanyo SCP 7050 Approved by the FCC

The Federal Communication Commission has approved Sanyo's SCP 7050 cellphone, which is an entry level ReadyLink handset. The phone looks like Sci-Fi laser stunner and, if Sanyo is going to keep this design until the device arrives on the mobile market, I bet there will be a lot of Star Trek fans that will give anything to take this beauty home.

Despite its good habit of giving away every single feature available on the phones coming their way for a closer look and an approval to
go out in the US mobile retailers, the FCC hasn't published a lot of details regarding the SCP 7050 handset. This means details are still scarce and we should be happy with what we've got until now.

The handset features an integrated GPS navigation system, a huge external antenna, a speakerphone, 1xRTT data, a monochrome external display and, if this is an upgraded version of the SCP 7000 Sanyo cellphone, it will also have ReadyLink Push-To-Talk functionality. If that proves to be the truth, then you can expect it to be launched by Sprint.

If every rumor circulating around the Internet will become true there is a huge probability that we are going to witness in the near future a massive migration of Star Trek fans towards the Push-to-Talk lovers' network of choice.

And, as if that will not be enough, they are also going to invade your neighborhood "stunning" stray dogs and cats all over the place.

There is no information yet about its launch date or about the price tag it is going to wear and, even worse, not even a single picture be it a live one or a render. Hopefully, more details will surface soon and, when they will, I'm going to make sure they reach you.
