Sanyo Epson Imaging Devices Corporation announced the company's latest high-resolution liquid-crystal displays (LCD) featuring Photo Fine Vistarich wide viewing angle technology.

This new technology enables the displays to generate beautiful images which can be viewed from an angle of 90 degrees from the top, bottom, left, or right. However, the production of such enhanced displays will start at the beginning of this autumn, and the monitors will be available in five sizes - 2.4-inch, 2.5-inch, 2.8-inch, 7.0-inch, and 10.1-inch.

Sanyo Epson will exhibit the five models next week, at the Automotive Engineering Exposition organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan, to be held from May 24 to 26 in Pacifico Yokohama.

The new LCD panels will produce images that can be seen clearly from 180 degrees in all directions, thanks to near-constant gray-to-gray response times without changes in color and to the Photo Fine Chromarich wide color gamut technology.

Furthermore, the displays feature low-voltage, energy-saving design and can be manufactured in slim modules.

These new displays are part of Sanyo Epson's i3 (imaging on glass - mobile displays) strategy SE07 for the mid-range business plan, developing products and technologies based on its HCL-S strategy (High quality, Compact design, Low power consumption, System solutions).

The LCD displays were made in five sizes in order to be used in several devices such as in-car navigation and entertainment systems, digital cameras and multi-functional mobile phones that are compatible with "One Seg", a new terrestrial digital broadcasting service in Japan enabling TV programs to be played on mobile phones.
