The educational environment has changed a lot from just a few years ago, projectors becoming a normal occurrence in today's classroom and Sanyo is set to take advantage of this trend since the company has just released no less than four models specially developed for such environments.

Coming with either WXGA or XGA resolution support, these projectors feature various brightness levels, the three XGA models offering a 2,000:1 contrast ratio while the PLC-WK2500 comes with an improved 3,000:1 contrast.

Since all these offerings target the educational environment, improved lamp and filter life are among Sanyo's key elements, the Eco mode increasing the lamp life to an estimated 6,000 hours while the new filter technology reduces cost and maintenance time through an increase in both efficiency and a longer interval between filter replacements.

Furthermore, in case you worry about the image losing its quality by activating the Eco mode you will be happy to know that all these models feature an automatic iris control technology that increases the contrast ratio by monitoring and detecting the requirements of the image and adjusting the lightness as necessary.

To ease classroom setup, Sanyo's projectors also come with an Auto Setup Function, a Screen Guidance Function providing the operator by with step-by-step instructions that are displayed on screen.

"These new projectors offer significantly lower long-term operating costs in comparison to existing and legacy projectors, making them an attractive proposition to educational facilities and businesses anticipating tight budgets over the next few years," says Sam Malik, Vice President of Sanyo's Digital Solutions Division, and General Manager of the Corporate Solutions Group.

"Our new long-life lamps, optics and filters mean less down time and a longer time between replacements."

The WXGA PLC-WK2500 is scheduled to become available in November 2010 for $995 while the XK series models are scheduled for a December release, the PLC-XK3010 coming in at $1145, the PLC-XK2600 at $995 and the PLC-XK2200 at $845.
