Microsoft and Southwest Airlines are partnering again for delivering free holiday photos to users in several convenient locations.

Santa, Windows and Southwest Airlines will work together this season for providing families with some holiday cheer, courtesy of free photos at 21 airports and 3 shopping malls nationwide (Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco).

The project has already kicked off in shopping malls, and will be put in place in 21 airports starting with Tuesday, December 13th. It is set to last until December 24th.

Through this new ‘A Picture Perfect Holiday’ project, Microsoft and Southwest Airlines will provide travelers with free, professional photos that will be taken either with Santa Claus or in front of a holiday-themed backdrop.

Moreover, people will be offered the possibility to easily edit, share and store their photos online via Windows Live Photo Gallery, in addition to being able to print the photo on site courtesy of state-of-the-art Epson printers.

Through the Windows Live Photo Gallery, the following options are available for users:

- Photo Fuse. Users can take the best parts of multiple photos and combine them into a single, perfect picture using Photo Fuse. - Retouch photos. Correct minor imperfections in your holiday photos with the retouch tool. - Straighten photos. Straighten the horizontal alignment of photos one at a time, or automatically straighten a batch of photos at the same time. - Noise reduction. Use noise reduction to remove grain and smooth out the appearance of photos in Photo Gallery. - Facial recognition. Facial recognition helps identify and tag people in your photos.

Those who would like to share the photo online or have a second copy of it delivered to them can head over to http://www.freeholidayphotos.com for that.

Additionally, Microsoft and Southwest announced the hosting of a holiday sweepstakes through December 24th, offering people the possibility to win a Windows 7 PC, or the grand prize, which means free flights for a year from Southwest Airlines.
