Since the new generation of processors that Intel has been preparing is supposedly just a couple of months away, motherboard makers are already announcing their LGA 1155 platforms, ASUS having just shown off four of its own.

ASUS took advantage of an event in London to reportedly give a detailed description of the Sabertooth P67, P8P67 Deluxe and P8P67 and Maximus IV Extreme.

All of them boast the new chipset, the P67 to be exact, and should come out around the same time as the chips themselves.

The P8P67 Deluxe and P8P67 can be seen as the most modest in terms of performance and feature availability.

They each boast four memory slots, two PCI Express x16 slots, six SATA 3.0 Gbps ports, two SATA 6.0 Gbps connectors.

To these are added, of course, connectivity and I/O the likes of USB, Gigabit Ethernet and a pair of USB 3.0 connectors, courtesy of a special controller chip.

The Maximus IV Extreme is, of course, aimed at enthusiasts and gamers, possibly even being set to play the part of flagship model.

It features four DDR3 memory slots, four PCI Express x16 slots, just as many SATA 6.0 Gbps connectors and the same number of SATA 3.0 ports.

There is also support for SLI and CrossFireX multi-GPU configurations and, of course, Gigabit Ethernet, audio (7.1 channel).

Other specifications include ROG (Republic of Gamers) features, like ROG Connect and on-board voltage read points.

Finally, the Sabertooth has two PCI Express slots of its own, four DDR3 slots and the regular set of ports and connectors.

Still, it definitely stands out among its peers thanks to its Tactical Vest, a removable plastic shroud with special cut-outs and vents that covers the whole motherboard and directs air to specific components.

The P8P67 Deluxe and P8P67 will sell for $220 and $150, respectively, while the Maximus IV Extreme will be priced at $300. The Sabertooth, unfortunately, was not given a price yet.
