As always, mobile personal computers are coming out one after another, though it appears Gigabyte went for the business sector instead of the consumer segment when it put together the GS-AH6G3N.

The notebook market seems to be as active as ever, even though tablets have been slowly eroding their market share.

Of course, there is no real fear that laptops will ever really go away, especially those on the business front.

Speaking of business notebooks, Gigabyte just presented one such device, dubbed GS-AH6G3N and based, unsurprisingly, on the Intel Sandy Bridge platform.

More specifically, prospective purchasers will be allowed to select from several chip options, including Core i3, Core i5 or Core i7 models.

Whichever chip is selected is backed by up to 8 GB of RAM and packed, along with storage and connectivity capabilities, inside a 14-inch frame.

Speaking of size, the whole machine measures 338 (W) x 235 (D) x 26.9 (H) mm, with the LCD (liquid crystal display) featuring a native resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels (HD).

That screen has the Intel HD 3000 integrated graphics to serve, since no discrete solution was provided, what with no games or overly taxing applications being expected of a non-consumer machine.

750 GB of storage space are provided by a HDD, while a DVD drive takes care of all optical storage and even some multimedia playback operations. The ODD bay can be used for a secondary HDD or SSD instead, even for a battery.

As for the aforementioned connectivity capabilities, as well as I/O, Gigabyte threw in 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, Gigabit Ethernet, a 3-in-1 card reader and a pair of USB 3.0 ports, plus HDMI.

Other specifications include a 1.3 megapixel webcam, two 1.5W speakers, a fingerprint reader and a 6-cell battery which, should the ODD bay be used to that extra, 3-cell one, can lead to up to 10 hours of life.

No price is known, but all other information is gathered neatly on the product page, here.
