Sandra Oh has some heartbreaking news for fans of the hit medical series “Grey’s Anatomy”: the time has come for her to say goodbye. TV Line confirms that the actress won’t reprise her role on the show after season 10 wraps.

According to Oh herself, there’s only so much that her character (Christina) can offer to her as an artist.

“Creatively, I really feel like I gave it my all, and I feel ready to let her go. It’s such an interesting thing to play a character for so long and to actually get the sense that she wants to be let go as well,” the actress says for the aforementioned publication.

“[Cristina] wants to be let go, and I am ready to let her go. We have to start the process, story-wise, for the Grey’s writers to think of why she’s going to go,” she adds.

However, fans will probably have to face even more departures after season 10, since Oh is just one of the six regulars whose contracts are up at that time.

Ellen Pompeo, Patrick Dempsey, Justin Chambers, James Pickens Jr. and Chandra Wilson will also have to decide whether to return or exit the show.
