This has to be one of the scariest scenarios for every home owner out there: you're in your bed, sleeping, and someone decides to break into your home to steal stuff. Believe it or not, but celebrities and their big mansions have that problem more often than regular people.

After her movie co-star, George Clooney, saw his Lake Como villa broken into several weeks ago, Sandra Bullock found herself in a similar situation, the only key difference being that she was still inside her home when the break-in happened.

TMZ reports that the actress was in her bed, sleeping, when an unidentified man broke into her home, in the early hours of Sunday morning. Police came in and arrested the man in her Los Angeles home at around 6:30 a.m.

The same source indicates that although she did get the scare of a lifetime, the actress wasn't hurt. At the moment police are looking into the case and trying to determine if this was a stalking case or a burglary. There's a big difference and police are trying to find the real motive of the breaking to know what to charge the man of.

If he was after the actress herself, chances are that he's going to get slapped with a restraining order to prevent him from ever getting close to Bullock again. Sadly, this isn't the first case of a break-in we've had in a long time. Quite the opposite actually.

Among those who have seen their homes broken into are George Clooney – whom we've already mentioned, Selena Gomez – who saw a stalker scaling the fence of her property several times, and Miley Cyrus – who lost some jewelry and her white Maserati Quatroporte in a robbery last week. The car has since been recovered and the thieves apprehended.

As you can see, celebrities are the first targets in a struggling economy as more and more people try to scale their walls and break into their homes. Sandra Bullock has yet to issue a statement but from initial reports she seems to be OK.

Last week, she made news by receiving the Spike TV's Guy's Choice Awards. This took place on June 7 and saw her take home the Decade of Hotness award. It was presented to her by three of her former male co-stars: Keanu Reeves, Hugh Grant and Matthew McConaughey.

During her acceptance speech, she felt pretty bad about her award and actually joked that “I feel like I'm at my funeral. Decade of Hotness…My question was what decade? I have several under my belt. It should really be Decade of Hot Mess.”

Sandra Bullock is 49, and she's been appearing in movies, mostly romantic comedies, for at least two decades.
