Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy are co-stars in the upcoming female buddy cop comedy “Heat.” At the premiere of the film, they describe it as a love letter to the city of Boston, where an advanced screening will also be held very soon.

It’s the least they can do after the tragedy that hit with the Boston Marathon bombings earlier this week, their way of showing their love and support for a city that’s going through hell right now.

Plus, “Heat” was shot here almost entirely.

“The movie is such a love letter to Boston. A lot of our cast are Boston people, either born or raised. So we really would like to support that city. I love that city,” director Paul Feig tells CNN.

“It's been an amazing tight-knit community before this happened, and it just bonded a community even more. I don't think a screening would ever be enough, feel like it's enough to do for them,” Bullock chimes in.
