Fame and fortune are nice but they come at a price that some find too high to pay. Sandra Bullock has had a very successful year when it comes to fame and fortune, having starred in a couple of popular movies like the award-winning “Gravity” but now she's ready to flee Hollywood after an armed stalker broke into her house.

The National Enquirer, which hasn't been the most reliable source in the past when it comes to celebrity news, claims that the actress was left traumatized by the incident that saw her come face to face with an armed intruder in her home in the middle of the night, so much so that she's decided to leave Hollywood for good after years of living there.

It's not like Sandra doesn't have where to move, far from it. She owns homes in New Orleans, Los Angeles and Austin, Texas, apart from the one in Hollywood, so she does have some options when it comes to her next place of residence.

The gossip is that the 50-year-old Bullock plans to move full-time in Austin, Texas, after a man by the name of Joshua Corbett somehow managed to get into her mansion armed with a machine gun. A friend of the actress told the publication, “Finding out Corbett had a machine gun filled Sandra with dread. She wants out – now!”

The magazine also claims to have gotten its hands on the police report and it tells a harrowing tale. It turns out that Sandra was awaken by loud bangs in the middle of the night when Corbett entered her home.

“The banging appeared to get louder and sounded like it was coming from her living room this time. She then feared for her safety, closed and locked her door to her bedroom and called 911,” continues the report.

The incredible part is that the intruder managed to roam the house freely for several hours before the police arrived sometime at six o'clock in the morning and took him into custody. After officers hauled him away, the man, obviously realizing his error, began shouting, “Sandy, I’m sorry. Please don’t press charges.”

It's not hard to image the effect this would have on anyone, let alone a famous actress who had taken all of the precautions to ensure that no person could get into her home without her permission. That's because Bullock had installed high fences around her home, topped with barbed wire and state-of-the-art surveillance. But all of that proved useless because the crazed man found a way to bypass all of them.
