A fresh release emerged for Sandboxie (reviewed here) over the weekend. Build 4.08 of the application increases compatibility with Windows 8.1 and adds support for SetCursorPos API.

Starting this release, Sandboxie should be able to work well with the Immediate Recovery feature in Microsoft’s latest operating system.

Apart from these, the developer also dealt with some glitches that affected the functionality and stability of the product. Two crash bugs have been eliminated – one of them generated a BSOD, while the other occurred when Microsoft Chinese Pinyin IME was in use.

Also fixed is a problem that caused error SBIE2205 to appear after installing a Microsoft cumulative security update (KB2898785) for Internet Explorer (10 and 11).

Additional modifications in this release refer to support for pasting bitmaps and metafiles from clipboard and for the dynamic variant of \RPC Control\spoolss, which allows sandboxed programs to print under Windows 8.1.
