Sanctum 2, a first-person tower defense game developed and published by Coffee Stain Studios on Steam, might get a Linux version soon.

Sanctum 2 is a direct sequel to the first game in the series. The first Sanctum didn't get a Linux version on Steam, but it seems that the second one will. To be fair, Sanctum 2 has been released on the Linux platform since May 2013, so this is not actually a very new game.

“Pick from four unique character classes and embark on a mission to protect the oxygen-producing Cores from hordes of deadly aliens who are threatened by their existence. Outfit your character exactly the way you want through the new and extensive customization system,” reads the official Steam website.

The game takes great pride in being the first tower defense FPS, and the Linux community eagerly awaits its arrival.

The information about the Linux version is taken from the Steam database and by no means is it completely certain. The Steam Database is a record of data that describes every Steam game and subscription provided by Valve for the Steam service.

Usually, the new entries are first visible in the Steam Database before their official launch.
