Those who though SanDisk didn't have anything up its sleeve besides the memory Vault were sorely mistaken, as that particular item is actually in the minority, according to the new press release. SanDisk released a new storage drive, one that is aimed at holding important photos and videos for 100 years (we covered it
here).
It turns out that the same company also completed some memory cards, extra flash drive units and even a device that can read or write flash cards at users' will.
The USB sticks, for one, are called Cruzer Fit and Cruzer Switch and have starting prices of $24.99 and $19.99, respectively. The former is dime-sized (woks well with notebooks and tablets) and has a capacity of 4GB to 16GB, while the latter is a cap-less, easily portable model of 2 GB to 32 GB.
Meanwhile, the memory cards are also two in number and, at the core, are of the same sort (SDXC), though one is of the standard size and one is of the microSDXC variety.
The 64GB SanDisk Extreme Pro SDXC UHS-I Card has 'the fastest write performance of any SD card in the world to date” (95MB/s) and is designed for photo/video cameras, while the 64GB SanDisk Mobile Ultra microSDXC Card is intended for smartphones (has class 6 performance, for Full HD video capture). In the above order, the flash cards (can go as low as 8 GB and 4 GB, respectively) have starting prices of $109.99 and $24.99, respectively.
Furthermore, the ImageMate All-in-One USB 3.0 Reader/Writer has four card slots (supports all major card formats) and obviously works through the SuperSpeed interface, though it also has backwards compatibility with USB 2.0. The price is $49.99. “Our flash storage solutions help consumers capture more photos, load their mobile apps faster, share exciting moments with friends and preserve their memories for generations to come,” said Bob O’Keefe, vice president, retail marketing, SanDisk.
