As the entire world becomes more and more digitized with the introduction of technology in each and every aspect of our lives, we see an increase in the number of digital devices being used in and around the house. Even though we have evolved a lot from the moment when it was believed the world was flat, the same mentality is still present.

Let me explain: say for instance when a new technology
emerges, the first thought people have is "this will never have any success". This isn't the only example; we as a race have had the belief that something is impossible until the point and sometimes even after this "impossibility" is demonstrated. The people who actually realize where some of these technologies and breakthroughs can lead to are now called "visionaries", but a long time ago, they were called "witches" and "masters of the dark arts" and so on.

I began by saying about the introduction of technology in our lives; this has become an integrating part of our culture, of who we are. Kids nowadays don't play with dolls or cars, they've got mobile phones, laptops, Blackberry's, iPods, the works. And from a parent's point of view, now it's easier to record a family vacation on your new video camera and then watch it again over and over again.

In the aid of this technological progress, SanDisk comes with the launch of an 8GB SDHC card. This is the first one of its kind, and comes with a MicroMate USB 2.0 reader included in the same package with the card, thus allowing for seamless connectivity with the computer. This model is able to hold more than 4.000 high-resolution pictures, up to 2.000 songs and almost 15 hours of MPEG 4 video recording.

Although the card is of large capacity, do some research regarding its compatibility with the device you intend on using it on. The card being in SDHC format works differently than standard SD cards, and for that matter, isn't backwards compatible with all the devices which support SD cards.
