SanDisk, one of the world's leading vendors of flash memory cards, has announced today that its line of Cruzer Enterprise secure USB flash drives have now been enhanced with features that make them meet the requirements of government employees. These portable storage solutions have been specifically designed to meet the specifications of the Military Standard 810-F, are fully compliant with the Trade Agreements Act (TAA) requirements and are suitable for the visually impaired. In addition, the Cruzer Enterprise USB flash drives have been featured with a waterproof design and are expected to receive the Common Critieria certification next month.

“SanDisk has upgraded the Cruzer Enterprise product line to meet the needs of a much broader range of users,” said Yariv Fishman, director of product marketing, enterprise solutions, SanDisk. “By reconfiguring the USB drive’s GUI, we increased the accessibility of important information technology to the visually-impaired. Additionally, the drive’s waterproof design is a perfect fit for health care professionals, soldiers and anyone else who needs to safeguard their critical data from harmful contact with liquid.”

As far as technical specifications go, the Cruzer Enterprise flash drive from SanDisk is capable of providing transfer speeds of up to 24MB/s read and 20MB/s write. The drive is fully compatible with both Windows and Mac OS X computers and is available in capacities of 1, 2, 4 and 8GB. In addition to the hardware performance, these solutions also deliver a number of security features, including FIPS 140-2 level 2 certification for encryption, hardware-based 256-bit AES encryption and password protection with Lockdown functionality.

Designed as a solid product for professional users, the Cruzer Enterprise has also been featured with a unique user interface (GUI) that is designed to increase accessibility for the visually impaired. Unfortunately, the company didn't specify the details regarding the pricing and availability of the new drive.
