Enough room for all the music you might want to store within such a device

The Sansa Clip has been around for quite a long time now, but, despite its success, it somehow lacked the capacity to fight against some of the other ultra-portable players around, the main reason being the relatively limited amount of available memory. However, it seems that SanDisk has decided to take care of this issue and launched an improved version of the mode, now equipped with 8GB of flash memory.

The increase in the available storage capacity will, quite obviously, allow users to carry around with them a very large number of songs, up to 4,000, to be more precise. The battery life has only been slightly affected, the device running for up to 15 hours on its rechargeable battery.

Now, for those of you who have never heard of SanDisk's Sansa Clip MP3 player, let's take a quick look at its feature list. Hence, we're talking about a very small device, roughly the size of a matchbox, weighing around 0.9 ounces, and equipped with a solid clip on its rear side, which allows it to attach firmly to pretty much anything (clothes, backpacks, belts, etc.). However, the clip can be detached, when needed, which will make the player look a lot more elegant.

Additionally, it sports an OLED display, for easier operation, and it supports a wide range of formats (MP3, WMA, WAV and Audible), as well as numerous music download and subscription services, including Rhapsody To Go(R), Napster, eMusic, etc. Furthermore, it has been equipped with a microphone for voice recording, plus an FM radio tuner with the option to create station presets.

The new 8 GB Sansa Clip will sell for around $99.99, while the other models will also remain available, at some pretty affordable price points: $40 for the 1GB version, $60 for the 2GB model and $80 for the 4GB variant.
