SanDisk Corporation, a worldwide leading provider of flash storage cards, announced today, at the Mobile World Congress, its SanDisk Service Delivery Card (SDC), a custom memory solution that delivers high storage capacity. The solution is based on a microSD card and has been specifically developed for Mobile Network Operators (MNOs).

The new SanDisk Service Delivery Card comes with unique capabilities that offer MNOs the possibility to configure local storage for streamline data delivery, at the same time enabling them to improve high capacity memory performance and integrate with network applications and services to leverage the end-user experience.

The fresh product series also includes Operator-managed features and options for reserving memory for key services and applications. The SanDisk SDC is able to fulfill the needs of the operators for in-store and out-of-box consumer education, as it can be pre-loaded with a Service Discovery experience, personalized by each MNO, for the promotion of the operator services.

“We’re introducing our first products in a new family of high performance, microSD memory solutions specifically designed to meet the custom needs of MNOs worldwide,” said Yoram Cedar, executive vice president and general manager, OEM and Corporate Engineering, SanDisk. “These customized cards highlight applications and services for the MNO and show end users how to get the most out of their mobile experience.”

The new SanDisk Service Delivery Card can offer operators the choice of providing the latest applications, content and access to services via a physical media channel directly to the mobile phone. The SDC allows operators to customize it for a complete MNO-branded experience that would include unique accessories, packaging or Service Discovery software. At the same time, SanDisk announced that it would offer the services needed to pre-load data or applications, as well as the integration with existing MNO services.
