Samurai Warriors: Katana is now available at North American retailers for the Nintendo Wii. Koei's game inspired from the samurai era is a first person arcade-style action-adventure designed to bring the fun into everybody's houses, as Koei's vice president declared.

Samurai Warriors: Katana is an incredibly fun way to step into the world of the Samurai Warriors," said Amos Ip, Senior Vice President. "By using the motion-sensitive Wii Remote to control a variety of weapons, run past deadly traps, or even ride on horseback, this amazing first-person adventure lets players enjoy the thrill of battle whether they are new to games or battle-hardened veterans."

The game will provide its players with nearly 30 hours of gameplay and each mission brings legendary samurai warriors and other warriors to join your cause and help you defeat invading pirates, rescue maidens from a burning castle and go through caverns filled with skilled ninjas. But don't count only on your allies' help because what matters most when it comes to a real ninja like yourself, is the skill. Skill for using all the weapons available in-game, such as the classic samurai sword, spears, war hammers and long distance weapons like bows, guns and even cannons. Yes, the last two are not exactly the first things that you think of when you think "samurai", but it's all about the fun, in the end.

Three types of play are available, the Musou Mode, the Trial Mode for training and the Vs. Mode which is, obviously, designed for multiplayer. This last game mode allows head to head battles in eight mini games. Apart all these, it's not like you get the chance every day to become the ultimate samurai in the world and feel how tough living was a few centuries ago. So if you're in North America now and you have a Wii console, Koei's Samurai Warriors: Katana might be the next thing for you to play.
