Gameloft has just signed a contract with soccer player Samuel Eto'o that will make him the cover star athlete of their upcoming mobile video game, Underground Street Soccer.

After achieving huge success with Real Soccer (one of the world's best-selling soccer simulation mobile game), Gameloft is now taking on street soccer with an extraordinarily talented player on its team. In 2006 alone, Cameroon's 26 year old football player, Samuel Eto'o, was named the third best FIFA player, Spanish Liga's best striker, and Man of the Match in the 2006 Champions League final. Samuel Eto'o is also a United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) ambassador and president of the foundation bearing his name, to which all proceeds arising from the rights conferred under this contract will be donated.

Gonzague de Vallois, Gameloft's Vice President of Publishing, said "Samuel is the ideal partner for our street soccer game. He is an exemplary champion, also known for his strong character and ability to earn respect on the field. Players of our Underground Street Soccer will appreciate all of Samuel's tips scheduled to be featured throughout the game, and will feel more motivated than ever to become street soccer champions themselves."

"I'm very happy to be associated with Underground Street Soccer - a game that promotes soccer as a spectator sport," added Samuel Eto'o. "That's exactly how I view it- my objective is to win by having fun and pleasing the fans.

Underground Street Soccer is a spectacular, user-friendly game offering four-against-four matches in an urban environment. The action is faster, and the fluidity better than ever. Players can perform incredible technical moves just by using their thumb, and put on a real show to impress fans. Underground Street Soccer aims to be the most sensational street soccer mobile game on the market.
