The second larger carrier in Japan, KDDI and Samsung have just announced that they have signed a new partnership that will provide the operator with advanced Samsung LTE network solutions provider.

The companies have also unveiled their plans to launch a commercial LTE service in 2012, which is meant to provide customers with the best data transfer speed available on the market.

The announcement does not come as a surprise, as KDDI and Samsung have been in a close business relationship during the past 10 years.

Samsung has cooperated with KDDI to provide commercial CDMA systems since 2002. Additionally, through offering Mobile WiMAX solution to UQ Communications, an affiliated company of KDDI for mobile broadband services, Samsung and the Japanese carrier collaborated for the second time in 2008.

Mr. Youngky Kim, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Telecommunication Systems Business of Samsung Electronics said, “As a long-term partner of KDDI, we’re very pleased to support them in establishing a new chapter of mobile communication in Japan”.

On related news, Samsung stated that it will introduce the industry’s first and one of the most optimized LTE solution for hotspots in extremely dense user areas that require higher capacity mobile broadband.

In addition, Samsung also plans to improve its service quality in areas with weak signal, at the same time.

It’s a cornerstone for today’s achievement that Samsung has always focused on providing solution for improving operators’ and end-users’ satisfaction since we entered into the telecommunication systems business. We’ll make constant efforts to provide more countries with our cutting-edge LTE solutions,” concluded Mr. Youngky Kim.

Based on the newly announced partnership with KDDI, the Korean manufacturer plans to expand its global presence within the industry following major LTE successes in the United States, Saudi Arabia and South Korea.
