Mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics is expected to bring to the market sometime during the remainder of this year a smartphone that would boast a touchscreen display larger than any before, at 5.3-inch.

For the time being, nothing was officially confirmed on the matter, but some of the latest rumors on this suggest that the company is indeed set to up the ante on the mobile phone market.

Undoubtedly, the fact that Nokia has been losing massive ground in front of rival companies and that Samsung is close to becoming the top mobile phone maker in the world have something to do with this.

At the moment, Apple is the top smartphone maker on the global market, while Samsung is on the second position.

However, the South Korean vendor is aiming at becoming the No. 1 smartphone maker in the near future, and the release of new, unique devices will certainly prove beneficial for the cause.

According to a recent article on oled-info.com, Samsung is about to launch a Super AMOLED HD display, and it plans on packing it inside devices soon.

After making the HD display official, Samsung will open the road to smartphones that would boast 5 or 6-inch touchscreen displays.

The 5.3-inch phone would deliver a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, and might be launched on the market with the model number of GT-I9220-W43 attached to it.

Samsung, which is also involved in the production of touchscreen displays, has made a great deal of advancements in the area, with the unveiling of flexible AMOLED displays and more.

Basically, this means that they might be very well set to come to the market with the said device in the near future, though there is also the possibility that it will all prove nothing more than supposition.

However, if Samsung launches a 5.3-inch smartphone, the line between phones and tablet PCs will become thinner than before.
