South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics is reportedly planning the inclusion of 16-megapixel photo snappers on next year’s flagship smartphones, the latest reports on the matter suggest.

Apparently, phones such as the possible Galaxy S5 and other high-end devices will land on shelves with a 16-megapixel sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), though they won’t be the same “blend” of camera and phone as Galaxy S4 Zoom is.

Interestingly enough, it appears that Galaxy Note III might not receive OIS capabilities, although Samsung was expected to offer the functionality to its users.

Galaxy S4, the latest Android-based flagship device from Samsung, came to the market with a 13-megapixel photo snapper, which could deliver a great experience, and it remains to be seen what the upcoming devices will have to offer, as SamMobile notes.
