Mobile phone maker Samsung has already announced plans to release its application store around the world, and it seems that handset users in Europe will have the opportunity to enjoy the portal as soon as this quarter. A beta version of the storefront was already launched in the UK earlier this year, yet the official version is still to come to the old continent.

Samsung's software solution portal comes in line with similar services delivered by companies like Apple (the first one to open its App Store), Nokia, Google, and others, including wireless carriers like Verizon and China Mobile. The same as with the beta version, the software portal is expected to provide users with paid and free applications.

According to the news, the website will be open to developers as soon as July 30, which is as close as tomorrow. The applications accepted to the portal will be Symbian, Windows Mobile and Java, and developers will also be able to track sales records, revenue and even rankings. Payments and billing will be made online through the new Application Seller website.

As many of you might already know, the company has worked hard for the launch of the Application Store. It already started to work with developers on building applications optimized for its handsets, and the Samsung Mobile Innovator has been up and running for more than six months.

Samsung seems to be one of the companies that waited the most before releasing the application portal for its mobile phones. This might be so because the mobile phone maker didn't want to come into conflict with carriers, which have been the ones to traditionally offer apps until now. Even so, Samsung is moving fast into having its storefront available in the near future, and we should be able to learn some more details on it as the launch day gets closer, so stay tuned to learn the news.
