One of the technologies that Samsung could show increased interest in in 2014 is said to be solar power, with the first smartphones from the company to include it expected to land in the not too distant future.

Apparently, Apple has already found a way to integrate solar charges inside its devices in an efficient manner, and Samsung doesn’t want to be left behind, a report coming from ZDNet Korea unveils.

Samsung is said to be focusing on displays at the moment, but it will also shift resources towards the development of solar charging technologies, it seems.

The mobile phone maker has already had the chance to work with the technology, and it appears that it could be close to implementing it inside smartphones.

As SamMobile notes, the technology could soon become mainstream, especially if Apple and Samsung are indeed planning on launching devices featuring it.
