South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung is getting ready for the release of a new smartphone on the market in India, and it has already started to send out invitations for a launch event set to take place on December 23.

As fonearena notes, the company did not provide specific info on what will be announced next week, as it only said that a new Galaxy smartphone would be unveiled.

However, Galaxy Grand 2 could be announced for India on that day, after being officially unveiled last month.

The Android phone features a 5.25-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) touchscreen display, while being powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, paired with 1.5GB of RAM.

Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 also sports an 8-megapixel camera on the back, with LED flash and full HD video recording capabilities, as well as a 1.9MP camera on the front, and a 2600 mAh battery. It also sports dual-SIM capabilities.
