Samsung Mobile Display may be working on its latest small form factor AMOLED panel, a 4.5-inch WVGA Flexible model, but the company also intends to deliver a panel for the TV and monitor market.

This year's International Consumer Electronics Show is shaping up to be very diverse in terms of how many products will be on display.

Granted, tablets will definitely be a prime point of interest, but many other things will debut.

For instance, Intel will show off its recently released low-end, mainstream and high-end Intel Sandy Bridge central processing units.

Likewise, motherboard makers will put their newest platforms on display, while PC suppliers will deliver new desktops, notebooks and netbooks.

Thus, it is not surprising at all to hear that Samsung would choose this event for the launch of a certain, quite innovative product.

The company came up with a 19-inch qFHD Transparent AMOLED panel, the first production prototype meant for large-panel devices.

What this means is that Samsung wants the idea to spawn various TVs and monitors.

Most performance and image quality details weren't provided, but the press release did point out that, both while running and when turned off, a transparency of up to 30 percent is maintained.

The company also claims that the prototype has the highest resolution of all transparent large screens so far revealed, but doesn't actually say what that is exactly.

Among the possible applications is searching the web while watching TV, or doing such tasks on a window, either at home or in cars, etc.

The demonstration will occur on Wednesday, January 5, from 7 to 10 PM, at Pepcom’s The Digital Experience! press event during the Consumer Electronics Show, at the Caesars Palace Hotel.

One can also expect to see a 14-inch qFHD panel, meant for mobile computers, on display, during the very same event, as well.
