Samsung is reportedly preparing the launch of smartphone displays that can deliver a pixel density of up to 560ppi, and it might soon kick off their mass production so as to have them ready for shipping in 2014.
According to a report coming from OLED.at, Samsung Display CEO Kinam Kim has already confirmed that the company is on the brink of beginning production of 5-inch 560ppi AMOLED panels, though no info on when the first smartphones to pack them will arrive has been provided as of now.
Such a 5-inch screen would be able to deliver a resolution of 2560 x 1440, which would certainly prove a great option for the next Samsung flagship smartphone, supposedly none other than the Galaxy S5.
As SamMobile notes, the resolution might seem too high for a smartphone, but this doesn’t mean that enthusiasts won’t be attracted to it. More on this should be provided soon, so stay tuned for the news.
