Recent rumors have brought to our attention that Samsung is planning to enter the budget tablet market with a model that was expected to be priced around €100 / $136.

The tablet’s name has been leaked in previous reports, as being the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite. Now a brand new one coming via DigiTimes and citing sources from the upstream supply chain, claims Sammy will price the model with exactly $129 / €94.

According to the information Samsung will provide, most of the components for the new tablet (panels, processor, battery and chassis) and the production process will be achieved in-house, hence the super affordable price.

The Galaxy Tab 3 Lite is expected to drop bundling a 7-inch screen with 1024 x 600 pixel density and a 3MP camera. Power will be drawn from a 1.2GHz Cortex A9 processor backed up by 1GB of RAM. But don’t get too excited, as the slate will run Android 4.2 out of the box and not the newest KitKat version.

The budget Samsung slate is expected to arrive on the market in Q1 2014 (maybe January) in white and black versions. Will we see it at CES 2014 too?
